چکیده
The paper presents the results of experimental research on pool boiling heat transfer dielectric liquid FC-72. Measurements were made at atmospheric pressure open surfaces with microchannels. Heat surfaces, in form parallel milled microchannels, copper. rectangular cross-sectional microchannels 0.2 to 0.5 mm deep and 0.4 wide. compared a smooth flat surface, provided five-fold increase coefficient two-fold critical flux. article analyses influence width height microchannel process. maximum flux was 271.7 kW/m2, highest obtained 25 kW/m2K. Furthermore, selected correlations for nucleate boiling.

Effect of open microchannel geometry on pool boiling enhancement
Pool boiling enhancement through surface modification has garnered the attention of many researchers for extending the limits of heat flux dissipation. Simulated copper chips were used in a pool boiling setup with water boiling at atmospheric pressure. Heat transfer performance of different microchanneled surfaces was compared to that of a plain surface. The results of the study showed that the...
متن کاملFlow boiling of FC-72 from a screen laminate extended surface matrix
An investigation is conducted to assess the thermal performance of multi-layered screen laminates when used as extended surface matrices (ESM’s) in vertical up-flow boiling. A dielectric coolant (FC-72) is used as the working fluid. Four specimens are constructed having different mesh-geometries and/or number of layers. Channel Reynolds numbers are varied from 2700 to 8500 and ESM base superhea...
متن کاملRoughness Effects on Nucleate Pool Boiling of R-113 on Horizontal Circular Copper Surfaces
The present paper is an experimental investigation of roughness effects on nucleate pool boiling of refrigerant R113 on horizontal circular copper surfaces. The copper samples were treated by different sand paper grit sizes to achieve different surface roughness. The average surface roughness of the four samples was 0.901, 0.735, 0.65, and 0.09, respectively. The experiments were performed in t...
متن کاملPool Boiling Performance Comparison of Smooth and Sintered Copper Surfaces with and without Carbon Nanotubes
Pool boiling heat transfer is measured with two individual working fluids on copper surfaces enhanced with sintered copper powder and carbon nanotubes. The working fluids are a segregated hydrofluoroether, HFE-7300, and deionized water. The surfaces considered in the experiments include smooth copper, copper with sintered copper particles, smooth copper with copper-coated carbon nanotubes (CNT)...
متن کاملAugmented boiling on copper-graphite composite surface
An experimental study is conducted to determine the nucleate pool boiling heat transfer performance of a copper-graphite (Cu-Gr) composite surface in Freon 113. The composite medium consists of ultra-high thermal conductivity graphite fibers of 0.0008~.010 mm diameter being consolidated in a copper matrix (50% area fraction). It has high thermal conductivity along the fiber directions, several ...
